Our story

Why Irth?

The inscriptions of Arabia are among the richest records of ancient humanity, yet their study is scattered across academic databases, often out of reach for the visitor or the curious.

Irth brings these documented sources together in one place and puts the reading of an inscription in your hands: photograph it with your phone, learn its script, period and meaning, and get to know the archaeological sites of the Kingdom before and after you visit.

How we build trust

Accuracy that is built, not claimed

Irth does not invent information. Every reading rests on real sources and is open to correction.

4 sources

Our database unifies 4 documented academic sources (OCIANA, DASI, DAAA, DiCoNab), classified according to the OCIANA standard used in the field.

Confidence level

Every analysis result shows its confidence level, and when the model is unsure it shows the closest similar inscriptions instead of guessing.

Real corrections

You can correct any wrong reading. Your correction becomes training data that improves the system's accuracy over time.

Real models

Artifacts from the field

3D models scanned from real artifacts in the Kingdom, ready for viewing and augmented reality.

The Eye Stele

A carved stone stele with a pair of eyes, from the archaeological sites of Arabia.

The Basalt Marker

A basalt road marker from the historic Darb Zubaydah, a witness to the pilgrim routes.

FAQ

Before you try it

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Can I try Irth now?

Yes. You can try the web version right in your browser at app.irth.com.sa, and we are preparing the app for launch on the App Store.

Does Irth work offline?

The map and site data work offline inside the app. Analyzing an inscription photo with AI needs an internet connection at the time of analysis.

How accurate are the readings?

Irth does not invent information: every result shows its confidence level, and when the model is unsure it shows the closest similar inscriptions instead of guessing. You can correct any reading. Results are for learning and exploration, not a substitute for a specialist's opinion.

Do you keep the inscription photos I take?

No. The photo passes through an intermediary server that we own and operate, only to generate the result, and we do not keep it after the result is returned to you. Details are in the privacy policy.

Which scripts does Irth recognize?

Ancient scripts of the Arabian Peninsula such as Thamudic, Nabataean and Musnad, among others.

Which devices does Irth run on?

The web version runs in the browser on any device, and the iPhone app is coming soon to the App Store.
